Welcome to the rhythmic world of African drumming! In this vibrant and dynamic class, we will embark on a rhythmic journey that traces its roots deep into the heart of African culture and tradition. From the bustling markets of West Africa to the ceremonial gatherings of East Africa, the beat of the drum has been an integral part of daily life, communication, and celebration for centuries.
In this workshop, we will explore the rich tapestry of African rhythms, techniques, and traditions that have captivated audiences around the globe. Guided by experienced instructor Baba Djuann, you will learn the fundamentals of African drumming, including proper hand techniques, rhythmic patterns, and much more.
Whether you're a seasoned percussionist or a newcomer to the world of drumming, this class offers a welcoming and inclusive space for all skill levels to come together and experience the joy of making music in the community. So come grab a drum, open your heart to the rhythms of Africa, and let's drum our way to a deeper understanding of this vibrant musical tradition.

About the Venue: The Clubhouse is a 100-seat, intimate performance space located in the heart of the Catonsville Arts District. Recently acquired, it is owned and operated by the Baltimore County Arts Guild and serves as a center of the arts in Baltimore County. Additional classrooms provide space for classes and workshops.
